“What’s my Wells Fargo routing number?” is one of those frequent questions asked by the clients of the bank.
Why asked?
Because today it’s impossible to carry out any banking transaction without including this code into the deal in the first place and because that’s not some secret code like some PIN number.
So most people just do not know it, though need it occasionally, in the second.
Routing Transit Numbers at Wells Fargo
First and foremost, when it comes to such a big financial institution as Wells Fargo Bank.
It has not one but a list of routing transit numbers (RTNs), which, generally, distinguish:
- Regions (where you opened your account): e.g. 062000080 in Alabama and 111900659 in Texas
- Wire Transfers: 121000248 for domestic transfers and SWIFT code WFBIUS6S for international
- Prepaid Cards: fixed 031302777 for Wells Fargo EasyPay Cards
- Lines of Credit: to find out these, the first three digits of your account number are required
Thus, routing numbers can be called individual only regarding the region where an account was opened, which means that these will be the same for all the residents of that particular state*.
*RTNs of California customers may differ. Basically, that concerns those who opened their accounts in Southern California. These customers can use either of their RTNs, as both are valid.

How to Find the Correct Routing Number
Two most typical payment methods nowadays, The Automated Clearing House (ACH) and Wire Transfer, will require you to enter your correct routing number if you carry out any transaction using either of these.
Thus, if you need to order checks online, make a direct deposit or tax payment, electronic funds transfer or direct payment of your bills, you’ll need your RTN.
It is required not only for identifying your banking in the transaction made, but for you to make sure that your funds end up in the right place too.
That’s why, it’s essentially important to know those nine digits well.
Basically, there are three ways how you can find out the correct number:
- Your RTN (Bank Routing Number) is printed far left at the bottom of your Wells Fargo Bank check.
- Information on RTNs is in the public domain, so it can be found at the bank’s website.
- You can call Wells Fargo any time (24/7 support) using the number indicated at the website.
So, if you have any check for your Wells Fargo account, you can just look at nine digits in the bottom left corner. If you currently have none on hand, you can find the number in the Internet.
Enter Wells Fargo name, go to the bank’s website (no need to log into the online banking system) and look through the list of numbers available.
If, however, you still have some doubts concerning your routing number’s accuracy, contact the bank directly to eliminate any risk of transaction failure.
